What is the difference between my membership date and my accreditation date?

Why you might have two different dates — and what each one means.

Written by Hayley Jones

Your membership date and your accreditation date are separate, and it's common for them to fall in different months.

  • Membership date — the date you paid for your application and joined as a member.

  • Accreditation date — the date you were assessed and approved by the accrediting body.

Because accreditations typically take several months to complete, there is often a gap between these two dates. This means your membership renewal may fall due before your accreditation anniversary — this is normal and expected.

⚠️ Note: If you've recently passed your accreditation and are being asked to renew your membership, it is likely because your membership date has come around again. The two dates renew independently.
