You can create a risk assessment in Solution Host by copying a pre-built template and completing the project details.
Before you start
You'll need access to the Safety Pack menu. Contact your administrator if you can't see it.
Steps
Go to Risk Assessments from the Safety Pack menu.
Select All Templates to browse available options.
Find the template for your type of work and press Copy to New Assessment.
Complete the project details: contract name, job duration, site address, client contact, and main contractor.
In Persons Affected, tick all relevant groups (employees, members of the public, subcontractors, etc.).
Go to Hazards and Controls. Review the pre-loaded hazards (shown with a green tick), untick any that don't apply, and add any additional hazards relevant to your work.
In the same Hazards and Controls section, check the risk scoring β set likelihood and severity for each hazard. This is easy to miss as it's not displayed separately.
Go to PPE Requirements and select the appropriate PPE. If you're unsure which code applies, use the generic options (e.g. hard hat, hi-vis, gloves, eye protection).
Press Update, then Mark Complete.
π‘ Tip: Use the page navigation arrows rather than clicking Next repeatedly β it's faster and less likely to skip sections.
β οΈ Note: Anywhere the template shows Your Company, this is replaced automatically with your company name when the document is issued or printed. Do not replace these placeholders manually.
Next step
Once your risk assessment is complete, you can create a method statement from it. See [How do I create a method statement in Solution Host?]
